Boost Employee Wellbeing with Seated Acupressure Massage
Quick, effective treatments that reduce stress, improve focus and energise your team — all in the workplace.
What is Seated Acupressure Massage?
Wellbeing made simple: relieve, restore, perform.
Seated Acupressure Massage, also known as On-site Chair Massage, is a convenient chair-based treatment carried out fully clothed. Using a combination of acupressure points and rhythmic movements, it helps to release tension, restore energy and re-energise body and mind. Designed with workplace wellbeing in mind, sessions typically last 15–30 minutes, making them easy to fit into a busy schedule — and the positive effects reach far beyond just relaxation.
Benefits:
-
Targets muscle tension in the upper body where stress builds most
-
Improves circulation and oxygen flow
-
Supports nervous system regulation, easing anxiety and lowering blood pressure
-
Strengthens immune response over time
-
Delivers fast, professional relief without oils or the need to change clothes
How Massage affects the body
Pressure and movement on the muscles stimulate mechanoreceptors in the skin and deeper tissues, which activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the body’s natural 'rest and digest' mode. Increased circulation delivers oxygen and nutrients to cells while supporting lymphatic flow to clear waste products, reducing inflammation and fatigue. Together, these effects ease physical tension while promoting mental clarity and overall wellbeing.
Benefits of massage in the workplace
Work-related stress, anxiety and depression continue to have a significant impact on both employee wellbeing and organisational performance. UK data shows that stress-related conditions cost businesses billions of pounds each year through lost productivity and sickness absence, accounting for tens of millions of working days lost annually and a substantial proportion of work-related ill health. A peer-reviewed article notes that the World Health Organization (WHO) has identified stress as one of the foremost health challenges of the 21st century, highlighting its widespread impact on contemporary life.

Research into massage therapy suggests it can play a valuable role in addressing these pressures. Studies indicate that massage supports stress reduction through positive effects on the nervous system and mood-related biochemistry, including increases in serotonin and dopamine — neurotransmitters linked to improved mood, focus and emotional balance. Workplace-based research has also reported reductions in perceived stress, anxiety and blood pressure following regular chair massage sessions.

By helping employees manage both physical strain and mental pressure during the working day, onsite chair massage provides a practical, time-efficient wellbeing solution. When offered regularly, it contributes to a calmer, more balanced workplace culture and supports healthier, more sustainable patterns of performance across the organisation.
